I love airports

My dad at the Edmonton airport, enroute to bella europa.

I'm just back from a solo mini-vacation visiting some of my fav girls in Vancouver and came to a realization. I love airports. I find it so relaxing to sit back with a chai latte, a good book or magazine and just soak up the energy of the place.  It is pretty much the jackpot location for people watching.  People excited to travel, people sad to leave, or even just people bored out of their tree. Either way everyone has a story and somewhere to go.

Okay, maybe after a 4 hour layover this might start to get old, but for an hour or two I am perfectly happy.  You've got to wait, so you might as well sit back and enjoy (and hope you're not stuck sitting next to that smelly guy who hogs the arm rest ; )

How was your weekend? Any fun adventures?

Christine

  3. Aww, airports are so great!
    Perfect for people-watching.
And I always feel antsy if I'm in an airport. Just want to "GO" , I guess?

  4. I once almost cried because I *almost* had to sit next to that smelly (huge) guy hogging the armrest.....until my mom and I moved up a row when we saw it was vacant...LOL.
I Love sitting in the airport with coffee and a good book :)

  5. I am soooo with you! Love airports! Except CDG at 5am local time after a red eye with no sleep... and a 5 hour layover before flying to Dublin... and a hung over boyfriend sleeping on the floor of the terminal... that wasn't fun! hahaha

  13. I feel the same way! My brother and I were actually just talking about how we like airports and waiting for our plane to take off. I love how most people around you have an air of excitement :)

  14. I used to love airports a lot more before I started travelling back and forth overseas. After 8 hour flights and then 5 hour stopovers before the last leg of a trip, the novelty definitely wears off, particularly with crying infants, stinky armrest-hogging people, the security and red-eyes with no sleep. blah. :)
