This relaxing long weekend included a dinner/movie date with some girlfriends (Bridesmaids! - hilarious) followed by an incredible dinner at The Marc. Appetizers were yummy, dinner was delish, but once they uttered the word beignets for dessert, I was sold!
Although they were nothing like the beignets we had in New Orleans, they were most definitely delicious. I'd describe them as a combo of those beignets and Tim Horton's timbits - with granulated sugar instead of powder. I've said it before, I'm pretty positive you can't screw up deep-fried dough covered in sugar. Yuuurm.
I was too busy eating up all the deliciousness to capture any other parts of the meal, but my friend, Dajana (always with camera in hand) pretty much had that covered. Perhaps we'll see more deliciousness on her blog soon. In the meantime, if you're in Edmonton go eat at The Marc - you won't be disappointed.
This is my second post about beignets, I think I might just have to round out with a third... maybe try and make some myself?? We'll see :)
