Nursery: The Before

We made some progress on the nursery this weekend and I can't tell you what a huge relief it is. Our office will be turned into the nursery and the office is, well, the messiest room in the house. I like to think (or hope) everyone has one of those rooms. You know the room, the place where things go to die. Don't know where that goes? Put it in the office. I should organize these eventually. Put it in the office.

So needless to say, it was a big job to organize and clear out this room. Thanks to my hubby who did the bulk of the work. Here's the before office in it's semi-cleaned, lack lustre state.

We went from this:
NurseryBefore01

to this:
NurseryBefore02

Ahhhh, what a beautiful blank slate. It feels so good to get started and suddenly has made everything feel very real. This is going to be our baby's room. It's going to live here. Wow. Sometimes making a person can be so surreal, I cannot wait to meet this munchkin.

So now we've got less than 3 months to turn this into a nursery... wish us luck!!

  1. Plenty of time to make it happen!!! Can't wait to see it with a fresh coat of paint!

Actually, most of the finishing touches and inspiration for my son's nursery happened after baby arrived. The basics were all in place...but hours spent rocking in the chair staring at the walls made me see everything differently!

    How are you feeling?

  3. Good work lady. And we have that exact same room in our house. We moved in in April, so it became the room to put all unpacked boxes and unhung pictures. Slowly getting through it all though and i can imagine where we want to put what for the bub.

I have collected so many nursery inspiration images in the last month, i have plenty of ideas!

Can't wait to see how it comes along xx

  4. I'm so jealous you have an actual room to put the little one in... Baby K gets a nook while we wait for the home addition. Probably should have thought of that before making a 2nd baby ;) Can't wait to see how it all turns out!

  5. You guys will do it! I was talking to another pregnant friend yesterday and she's due at the end of October as well and they just painted last week, and that's all they have done. I told her we were in the same boat and didn't really get moving on the nursery until that point... so you're right on track it would seem haha
